HDMI 1.3 audio / video has been a hot topic lately especially in the AV forums. Many are excited at the prospect that their PC or HTPC will have full HDMIaudio/video capabilities and there have been a few products which havecome to market that can supply these specifications in varying degrees.The X-fi HTHD can supply all the HDMI audio goodness you could want with full support for LPCM and bitstreaming output of Dolby® Digital Plus, Dolby True HD, DTS-HD Master Audio.
The HWC Audio Lab has received exclusive updated information and somenice high resolution pictures of this highly anticipated offering fromAuzentech. The HWC Audio Lab is pleased to present the Auzentech X-fiHome Theater HD 7.1 audio card.
There have been various re-designs to the card when comparing to theoriginal information and specifications released by Auzentechpreviously. Futher information suggests the HTHD card is scheduled forrelease sometime in November with a MSRP of ~$249.
Although this card will support the full range of HDMI 1.3 audiostandards, the card also features a full array of analog and digitaloutput options for those who are waiting a bit longer to take theplunge into HDMI Audio/Video. The bundle includes break out cable tosupport 7.1 analog outputs, Line input and Microphone input. The outputarray also features a headphone output in addition to the full array ofanalog I/O options.
The S/PDIF I/O features Dolby Digital Liveand DTS-Connect Encoding. This new card will become one of Auzentech'sflagship models with full support for Hardware Accelerated EAX1,2,3,4,5 And OpenAL support. We also see Auzentechs trademarkreplaceable opamp for the Front/Headphone channel. Good news for thoseof us with a collection of opamps. The lower right hand side of thecard contains a DID Ext connector, which can be used to connectExpansion bay devices.
