JVC Original Panel with Wider Colour Space
The LT-42WX70 features a colour space that is wider than an HDTV and depending on the source signal ― video or stills ― the user can select from a colour mode of Wide (the TV's colour space), Normal (ITU-R BT.709, HDTV standards), x.v.Colour (xvYCC extended gamut), sRGB (same primaries as HDTV) and Adobe RGB. The sRGB and Adobe RGB colour spaces are exclusively used for viewing digital still images and if the photographer takes the shot by selecting the Adobe RGB setup, then the same Adobe RGB mode should be set on the monitor to ensure that the image is reproduced faithfully to its original colours. The monitor also encompasses 100% of sRGB colour space (which is equivalent to HDTV for the video signal) as well as a coverage rate of 96% for Adobe RGB. The LT-42WX70 can accurately reproduce deeper reds and blues as well as more vibrant greens, which are typical characteristics of the Adobe RGB colour range.

Differences between coverage and areahttp://www.jvc.co.uk/site/lt-42wx70/images/page2_img_02.jpg
Looking at the diagram, if we take the blue triangle as Adobe RGB and the yellow triangle as a TV's colour space, the areas of both triangles are the same, so 100%. However because the yellow one doesn't cover the entire blue space, overlapping area is only about 90% coverage. The LT-42WX70 has an area ratio of 117% for sRGB and 100% for Adobe RGB

Individual Gamma Curve Adjustment Prior to Shipping
JVC's original Individual Gamma Adjust System calibrates each panel's grayscale tones to gamma 2.2, ensuring the display of consistent and faithful colour reproduction regardless of the set or manufactured lot. This extra benefit was incorporated because colour consistency between the source and display is essential when reproducing photos that are taken on digital SLR cameras or video from different sources.

“Photo Pro” Preset ― Optimally Designed for Displaying digital SLR Photographs
The LT-42WX70 features six presets that can store user-preference picture modes to ensure higher picture quality for both movies and stills. Of the six presets, “Photo Pro” Preset is designed for displaying digital SLR camera images to enable the faithful and accurate reproduction of the source image.

New DynaPix HD Picture Engine
Natural colours and smoother tone (12-bit x 3 = 36-bit)

The new DynaPix HD Picture Engine has been further refined to guarantee the reproduction of accurate and natural colours. The Real Bit Driver offers 12-bit (x RGB=36bit) processing performance, enabling up-converting of 8-bit HD broadcasting and DVD signals to 12-bit Deep Colour signals, ensuring smoother gradation regardless of the quality of the original source signal.

To compensate for colour bleed and colour drift that can be caused by gaps in the source colour format and the LCD's colour space, the Chromaticity Point Conversion Circuit in the engine matches colours so that they come out deeper, more natural, and accurate to the original source.

Intelligent Clear NR
Newly developed algorithm emulates the way people naturally raise visual sensitivity for those colours in an object that catches their attention. Intelligent colour Management analyzes the colour distribution in each frame of the input signal in real time to perform high-level processing for those areas that catch the attention. This creates images with more realistic colours and textures, adding a more dimensional feel.

100Hz/120Hz Clear Motion Drive III*
The 100Hz/120Hz* Clear Motion Drive III in the engine reduces blurring on LCD TVs, helping to make images with rapid movement clearer and smoother via a high-precision interpolation algorithm. What's more, a 3D real time, motion-estimated Hadamard noise reduction system of the Intelligent Clear NR is applied to further eliminate noise while suppressing blurriness. Picture signal frequencies are also divided into 16 sections to achieve effective noise reduction per section to create images without noise while maintaining the realism and sharpness of the original picture.

Displaying colours in their original set of tones
To achieve preferred colours of the connected sources individually, the LT-42WX70 features 52 on-screen image-quality adjustment properties, just as much as high-end front projectors would offer, that allow the fine-tuning of colours, tint, gamma, and more ― all of which can be memorized per source for future recall. For example, individual Colour Management Settings of tints and colours such as red, yellow, green, and cyan as well as skin tone tint can be adjusted on-screen using the supplied remote controller.
