CinemaCon大會上發布片名為Avatar The Way of Water，現場將播放片段，預告將伴隨奇異博士2:失控多重宇宙院線上映時釋出。
HFR 3D，國外的杜比影院將會有放映對應設備版本。

帝國雜誌的專訪，新文章報導隨著阿凡達：水之道即將上映，而第三部採取背靠背的方式拍攝也預計安排2024上映，而第四以及第五原則上也是計畫背靠背的方式進行，但是否由詹姆斯卡麥隆執導，卡麥隆似乎給了一個明確但保留的態度，也許會將第四以及第五交給其他所信任的導演執導，而卡麥隆還有一些他感興趣的主題，想要發展。
