and just don't know much about this thing
What is the difference between 1080i and 1080p?

Try to help to answer your question, then I did a google search.

1080 (number part) just mean the resolution is 1920x1080 (1080 for the vertical pixel).
However, the p and i part, P is not stand for the Pixel. (Which I thought it was)
P is short for Progressive scan, and I is for interlaced scan.
Short conclusion is 1080p is better than 1080i, base on this website.
But it should not bother you too much, due to the difference only happen in the video source and cam recorder.
For "GoM TV", I've never heard about that. Can not help you there.
But the Master Google will always bring you some surprise.!! In fact I am a Hong Kong people

p指的是"逐行掃描",i指的是"隔行掃描"
所以1080P畫質會比1080I好
但個人認為啦用肉眼看不太出來會有什麼分別
應該要用專業儀器才看的出來吧

我想o53827兄 說的很清楚
其實P 和 I 只是成像方式的差異
就算來源是i 現在的液晶和電漿電視 也是轉成P來撥放
解析度 都是1920x1080
網站上說 其實真的有差異 是在錄影設備的選擇
撥放端 其實差異就不大了
