I didn't attend the show. I saw the projector briefly the afternoon before the show. What I saw didn't impress me. But I heard that the unit is a prototype (it doesn't even has HDCP on the DVI input!) and the production unit may be very different. Hence I don't think there is much to comment.
Actually right after I saw the Cinetron, I went to another highend hometheater shop on the same street and saw the new JVC 1080p projector (aka the Sony copycat!). The source was the same Toshiba XA1 with the same Phantom of the Opera HD-DVD! The projector was coupled with the bundled iScan scaler. The projector was just installed the day before and any calibration was very limited. But the picture was... equally unimpressive!
On the other hand, the Ruby is so much better IMO if not for the dread "white compression" problem!

I didn't comment much because I heard the unit is indeed a prototype. Even the LCOS panel will be from a different brand in the production model.
If you guys insists, I'd say the black level is decent but overall not bright enough. Color tonal was not there yet but that should be due to calibration. Contrast looked decent but again nothing to write home about. Sharpness seems good but the overall picture had a heavy tone of too much DNR effect applied, hence a bit oil painting look. That may be due to the control of it's internal HQV processing. All in all, the prototype unit didn't impress me.
The JVC 1080p in the other setup had much better color rendering but that is expected from a decent LCOS setup. Contrast was lacking with POOR black level (even on a sound screen!) and yet there was plenty of brightness. Resolution and sharpness was lacking due to the cheap bundled iScan processor which can't do 3/2 pulldown process from the Toshiba HD-DVD source. Again, the overall presentation was very un-impressive!
On the other hand, the Ruby gave a great picture with sharpness and resolution, great color, stunning contrast with excellent black level and plenty of brightness. Until I saw the ugly "white compression" artifact, that is!
Meaning... the future is not setted!

上海展上他们一会说是6000美圆一会又说是8000美圆.我还和提供他们芯片的厂家的工程师聊了好一会.他还给我看了这个机器里面的芯片.呵呵

賣便宜了怕少賺, 賣貴了又怕市場反應死得難看∼
其實, Projector 的市場進化得飛快, 只有正式推出時才能真正的決定 Street price;
我猜, 他們到目前心中只有一個期望售價吧.
謠傳, SONY 又要出比 Ruby 更低一階的 SXRD FP, 採用一般的 UHP 燈泡;
大家都猜會賣 US$5,000, 如果屬實, 屆時投影機市場的價格結構又是一番天搖地動.
Cinetron 目前期望的 US$6000 or $8000 MSRP 也會成為笑話一則.
PS, Li On 提到, Cinetron 可能會臨陣換將, 改用他款 LCoS panel, 壓力也真是大！ 现在用的是比利时一家公司提供的!哈哈
