Dune HD Line Features the Most Advanced Technology
Recognized globally as one of the best in universal digital media players, the Dune HD line provides audio and videophiles with superior system quality and performance. Dune HD works with partners across the globe to deliver the best technology available -- with broad IPTV, VOD and OTT support to the latest chips from Sigma Designs and integrated support of THX Media Director.
As a testament to the advanced capabilities of the Dune HD product line, THX selected the Dune HD Max and Dune HD Smart B1 as the world's first Blu-ray enabled media players to support the new THX Media Director technology. THX Media Director transforms movies, music and other digital media into smart content. The result is a simplified and enhanced home entertainment experience whereby Dune HD players automatically select the appropriate playback settings and modes specific to each piece of content to preserve the content creator's artistic intent.
As content distribution for movies shifts from optical formats to streaming over the Internet, Dune HD is poised to capitalize on this trend by bringing the VUDU streaming service to its full line of media players in 2012. Details on the relationship and product roll-out are forthcoming.
The entire Dune HD product line, including Dune HD Pro, is on display at the CES show in the South Hall, Lower Level, Booth #21445. For any questions or to arrange a meeting with Dune HD executives, please contact Samantha Steinwinder, [email protected], 206-713-6983
Dune HD to BitTorrent Certify Multi-Format HD Media Players New Dune HD devices will incorporate BitTorrent features to help people discover, play, share and move high-quality personal media files
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dune HD, one of the world leaders in designing and manufacturing HD media players, and BitTorrent, a leading peer-based technology company and inventors of the BitTorrent protocol, today announced a partnership to design, develop and market BitTorrent Certified Dune HD media players in Europe and Asia. The two companies will jointly demo device prototypes at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
New Dune HD media players will enable consumers to discover, play, share, and move all types of personal media, regardless of size, type or format, so that consumers can watch high-quality content in their living rooms. Devices will also enable users to share personal media with family and friends over the Internet using peer-accelerated technology. Certified devices displaying the “BitTorrent Certified” logo will go on sale in Europe and Asia, effective immediately.
“Once you’ve recorded a smartphone video with your friends or recorded a family wedding, it’s fairly easy to transfer the files to your PC. However people really want to easily view them on their TV, and also share them with friends. BitTorrent technology makes it fast and easy,” said Konstantin Dyshlevoy, a CEO at Dune HD. “BitTorrent technology provides a 360 degree ecosystem for personal media and a renowned technology that complements our devices. We’re excited to leverage this exciting technology to offer our users an easy solution to an ongoing challenge.”
“Personal media files are becoming bigger and bigger because the resolution of the recording devices has improved dramatically,” said Shahi Ghanem, chief strategy officer at BitTorrent. “And peer-based computing is the fastest way to send these huge files over the Internet. Dune HD media players are an ideal solution for people who want to access their huge personal media libraries and play their high-quality content on any screen, at any time. We’re pleased to be partnering with Dune HD and look forward to a long and beneficial partnership.”
The BitTorrent ecosystem is an integrated solution of peer-based technology protocols, consumer software, and consumer electronics devices all orchestrated to help over 150 million users move their personal media from their PCs into the living room. BitTorrent Certification enables consumer electronics manufacturers to leverage the speed of the BitTorrent protocol and key downloading, transcoding, sharing and media-shifting features. The result is that their devices will seamlessly play BitTorrent content using a simple 10 foot user interface controlled by 4 or 7 button remotes for TVs, BD/DVD players, set top boxes, network addressable storage media adapters and more.
