而在官方發布開拍影片及新聞稿，提到了星際大戰VIII將有三位新演員加入演出，分別是班尼西歐狄奧托羅Benicio Del Toro(怒火邊界、星際異攻隊), 蘿拉鄧恩Laura Dern(侏羅紀公園)以及新人演員Kelly Marie Tran。
