SONY FS7將於三月釋出重大升級，可機內錄製ProRes 422 MOV

就像SONY在去年推出FS7的時候許諾的那樣，FS7正迎來他的第二波韌體升級。
大廠商這點就是比較好，升級計劃很少跳票。

在FS7的韌體升級2.0版中，對以下部分做了重要升級：

1、機內可以錄製4096*2160 的分辨率了，也就是4K DCI，而過去只能是3840的UHD標準。
2、修正了白平衡偏“品”（magenta）的問題。
3、機內可以以Prores HQ 422的編碼方式錄製1080P的MOV了，並且是直接錄製在XQD卡上的。
這點非常重要，這讓一些日常的製作還不需要4K的製作人可以直接選擇MOV的製作流程，例如APPLE FCP的後期流程。讓流程更加簡單，不需要再為後期的轉碼和插件操心。讓流程更加簡單，不需要再為後期的轉碼和插件操心。

這裡需要說到是ProRes的記錄需要SONY的一個附件，叫做XDCA-FS7 。

當然，SONY為了保護自己格式和流程，對Prores的使用還是做了一些限制，例如不支持超級慢動作。

攝影機之爭很大一部分是流程之爭，他們試圖用格式和前後期的流程去把一些用戶圈在裡面。這個想法本身沒錯，但是在執行的時候很難，即便是SONY這樣的公司，也存在和第三方軟件公司簽訂協議，製作插件的時候，也存在各種不人性化，或者使用習慣的問題。即便是他們收購了VEGAS，也沒有實現SONY自家的流程被廣泛的應用。

不過相比其他的廠牌，SONY的技術儲備比較充分，所以在市場上更多的時候是在打策略牌。

Sony 如期在 2015 年三月釋出 PXW-FS7 攝錄影機和 XDCA-FS7 擴充套件的更新。2.0 更新中包含：

Expands audio recording to four channels audio at 24-bit, 48 KHz.
Supports DCI compliant 4096 x 2160 XAVC-Intra-frame recording up to 60 fps.
Adds HD Apple ProRes codecs to enable progressive and interlaced HQ and 422 recording.
Eliminates “Magenta Cast” in WB preset mode.
Renames “Color Temp <P>” menu parameter to “Preset White”
Eliminates need to re-enable “Steady Shot” after power ON/OFF cycle.
Retains “Paint Menu” settings after power OFF/ON cycle.

Details

4 CH Audio Recording

Enabled two additional audio inputs via the built-in Multi-Interface “MI Shoe” located on the FS7 top handle; for a total of four, 24-bit, 48 KHz digital audio channel recording. The Audio Menu is enhanced to enable management of additional inputs.

The high quality MI-Shoe interface allows connecting additional professional-quality micro-phones, mixing consoles etc. to the FS7. This intelligent interface automatically powers connected devices following the camera’s power switch.

Ver. 2.0 enables compatibility with several optional audio accessories: XLR-KM2, this device provides two XLR connectors plus all necessary controls. The UWP-D digital wireless series provides robust transmission thanks to true diversity transmission -it has two discrete tuners, one for each antenna.

DCI compliant 4096 x 2160 XAVC-I recording

Ver.2.0 adds DCI compliant, 4096 x 2160, XAVC-Intra frame progressive recording at: 23,98p, 25p, 29.97p, and 59.94p. Slow and Quick Motion “S&Q” framerate selection in single frame increments is possible.

The highly efficient XAVC-I codec is an ideal acquisition codec; providing mastering quality at a moderate bit rate. XAVC significantly cuts memory cards and HDD requirements. For example, XAVC-I requires only 600 Mbps to record 10-bit, 422, 4K at 60 fps; on the other hand, 4K Apple ProRes HQ requires 1.76Gbps.

HD Apple ProRes HQ & 422 recording

Ver. 2.0 adds HD Apple ProRes HQ & 422 codecs to the optional XDCA-FS7 expansion module. Ver. 2.0 supports progressive and interlace Apple HD ProRes HQ or 422 recording to the camera’s XQD cards. Supported progressive frame rates include: 23.98p, 25p and 29.97p Supported interlaced at 50i and 59.94i.
