導演雷利史考特在完成新作絕地救援The Martian接受雜誌媒體專訪時提到，普羅米修斯續集將預定2016年開拍，

在多倫多國際電影節上為新戲絕地救援The Martian宣傳的雷利史考特透露了普羅米修斯續集將於明年(2016)2月開機拍攝，拍攝地點有可能是澳洲或是美國本土拍攝。

澳洲媒體報導，上週澳洲外交部長Julie Bishop預告了將會有一名導演來洽談下一部拍片計畫，現在可以確定了就是雷利史考特，而導演雷利史考特接受訪問時提到希望可以能在2016年1月於澳洲雪梨展開作業(拍攝?)。

在不可能的任務:失落國度亮眼的女主角Rebecca Ferguson，deadline報導正在接洽Tomas Alfredson執導、Martin Scorsese擔任監製的雪人The Snowman作品之外，
報導中也提到了目前也有可能加入普羅米修斯續集Alien: Paradise Lost的演出，而先前傳出續集將會有新太空旅者會不會就是Rebecca Ferguson來擔任呢?

雷利史考特導演接受IGN訪問再次表示，Alien: Paradise Los明年(2016)二月開拍，劇本上大致完成，
而拍完這部之後可能還會有一部或是兩部的續集，然後就接回異形第一集。

普羅米修斯續集的片名先前所報導的都是Alien: Paradise Lost，但在一場座談會上導演雷利史考特似乎又以新的名稱Alien: Covenant來稱呼
所底到底是?Alien: Paradise Lost?還是Alien: Covenant 或者Alien: Paradise Lost有可能會是續集後的續集????

普羅米修斯續集片名正式確定為Alien: Covenant，福斯揭曉片名設計logo以及電影將預定2017年10月6日上映，
在發布的新聞稿內有提到這是普羅米修斯三部曲的第二章，也就是意味著應該還會有一部作品之後就連接到異形1囉?
而首發的劇情簡介當中只提到麥可法斯賓達(Michael Fassbender)所飾演的生化人大衛David，卻沒提到歐蜜瑞佩斯(Noomi Rapace)所飾伊莉莎白蕭

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS -- and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. 根據THR的報導，雷利史考特確認了還會有兩部屬於普羅米修斯的後續作品，這兩部作品以及Alien: Covenant將會是一個新的三部曲，
最後會承接上1979年的異形，而異形的核心問題就是它們是什麼，誰製造了他們，他們又從哪裡來的，這些答案將可以在這三部曲中找到答案，
在報導裡也確認了Michael Fassbender(生化人David)將會在三月底達雪梨準備16周的拍攝，而在普羅米修斯飾演伊莉莎白蕭的Noomi Rapace
將會短暫的出現在劇中，此外導演也透露銀翼殺手續集將會在布達佩斯和北京製作。

導演接受thewrap專訪時除了透露電影將在明年(2016)3月拍攝外也提到，劇情裡將會展示H.R. Giger(已故異形設計藝術家)為作品設計的經典樣式，
如異形蛋egg、抱臉型態face-hugger、破胸型態chest-burster以及成形狀態都會在影片中呈現。

英國女演員Katherine Waterston(性本惡 Inherent Vice)加入Alien: Covenant劇組演出，在劇裡將飾演女主角Daniels的角色，
明年上映的怪獸與牠們的產地Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them也會有她的演出。
