Quick impression of TMT3:
No Dolby in the demo is a bother. Even DTS HD sources would pop up the Dolby warning.
The Pop up mouse did not work for squat, it was mis-sized. Only half of the buttons were available. Also I could not find the way to turn it off or in the right click TMT Main Menu.
Media center remote didn't work for some titles (BD titels mostly) and was over all intermittent in performance.
MKV files played fine, passing the Dolby 5.1 sound directly to the receiver which TMT 2 would not do.
TMT 3 still opend and plays moive folders (like slysoft makes) and played BD and HD ISOs and Discs.
Very happy HD support remains,I have BDs mostly but a lot of HDs too now that they are sold for peanuts.
It seems TMT 3 fixes issues that haunted TMT 2.
Looking forward to the full release just get us a good price for upgrading. (Will TMT 3 full release be capable of living in harmony with TMT 2 install on the drive ? as this edition seems to be capable of. )
For what it is worth I did recently powerDVD (9) another try and was not all that impressed with it, the most impressive attribute is the trueHD DVD enhancement but for my taste it over enhanced the DVD image. What I did like about it (some of the way it handled some sound sources and MKVs) may be fixed with TMT 3 improvements over TMT2.
Looking forward to the full release. (and the slysoft player when ever it comes out.) |
