美版E.T外星人有兩種版本一種是上面影片包含圖書冊的以及現在只有碟片版本，而內容方面BD碟與先前台版所發行的內容一模一樣可參考上面的，
而4K UHD BD這次則是多了新的發音音軌DTS:X，對於音效有重視的朋友可以考慮購買此版本。

開盒看碟片的印刷，不好的預感湧現，果然，號稱40周年紀念的E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial 4K UHD/BD 鐵盒，就外表來看是新產物，但內裡以台版來看，4K UHD碟片，BD都是早先發過的內容，沒有更新，新購買的碟片放進播放機裡還跳出上一次觀看斷點的選單繼續看。要有40周年新的兩個新的訪談(新的花絮是收錄在4K UHD碟)收錄請認明美版、英版、韓版以及日版都是。但就不會有正片以及花絮內容對應軌的中文字幕。

這裡補充一下好了，文中提到4K UHD有花絮的部分，以韓版的花絮收錄，可以點選來源，可以明顯看到，4K UHD跟BD碟的花絮有所不同，也就是差了兩段40周年才有的，韓版的4K UHD有新花絮，但BD也是用舊碟，而BD碟的新舊版本其實也可以從音效來看，新版本是重新壓制的DTS:X。
