Need help for Optoma H79

I just bought a H79, but the service menu shows it is a H77, and my computer also recognize it as a H77! I did not saw H77/h79 before and can not tell the difference. Since the H79 looks identical with H77, I don't know which model I got, maybe I pay the money for H79 but just got H77? Can anybody here tell me the difference? Thanks.

記得 H7X 系列是共用 Firmware,
差別只在 dmd 晶片, H77 用的是 HD2+ DC2,
另一方面, H79 用 DC3, 這在我的 H79 頂部, 或其紙箱側面有標示
(我的是水貨, 可能標示上和內銷貨會有所不同);
另外, H77 在前年底就已經停產了.

剛剛確認了, ATI x800 說是 H77;
H79 的 Service menu 也報告是 H77~

OK, 我台這雜種的 H79 向純種的 H79 敬一杯！

Thanks Peter, I also found the DC3 sign on the top. Would you mind to tell me the serial no. of your H79?

Sorry, I can't; The wife recycled the carton labeled the serial # of my unit during Grand Cleaninghouse before Chinese New Year. The post # 750 on the following AVSforum thread may help you to verify the actual model of your unit:

Thanks a lot, Powertrip can read the monitor information including the serial No., My serial no. is O81L550A1052. If it read from the registry, it shows the model as OTM3748, otherwise it shows OPTOMA H77.

O81L550A1052, so you got a unit manufatured on 50th week of 2005;
I'm very convinced your uit ia a H79, it would be the very last batch of H79.

BTW, Thanks for the tip, now I know my unit's serial # as O81L521A1001.

Thanks Peter, I am convinced that I got a genuine H79. By the way, what sort of screen do you use to match the H79, I just use the Kikuchi 100HDAG.

It's a cheap Da-Lite matt white;
Before I redo the HT room, I'm stuck with it.
