根據巴哈網站的報導，SONY大人在30號的時候有一個PS4：最終問與答（PS: The Ultimate FAQ）」，提到新機不支援 4K 超高畫質遊戲、相片和影片輸出，未來是否支援該功能，仍有待討論。PS4 支援 3D 遊戲，但目前首發遊戲中尚未有相容於 3D 顯示之作品。此外，用戶需下載首日系統更新，才能播放 DVD 和藍光光碟，但不支援音樂 CD。新機也不支援媒體伺服器中接收資料的 Client 端功能。
巴哈11月1日下午的新聞。
所以如果是真的那可能要慢一點入手PS4。反正等兩星期後就知道真假。

SONY 在9月説4K沒問題, 那在10月説4K有問題,

ps4硬體沒意外的話一定是支援4K的，但是到時候可能會跟它的電視一樣，使用軟體更新的方式打開功能即可使用，但是現在的一切都是未定之數，因為機器還沒出什麼都可能發生。

世界各國不論出遊戲片或電影應該不會使用中華民國出的片子吧！100G很久以前就有了，但軟體配不上它就幾乎無用武之地了。

4K除了硬體需要強力設備以外  檔案大小也是個大問題

BD可能已經不夠用了   需要開發出更新的儲存設備

最大的光碟廠不代表人家就會用，如果你是SONY跟八大片廠要推4K，你是要用日本已經有的技術還是等中華民國的廠商發展出100G的片子？當然還有一個可能就是中華民國依舊代工別人提供技術，panasonic跟sony之前不是合推300G的片子嗎？

連HDMI 1.4a透過改韌體都能變身2.0了
PS4的硬體未來應該可以透過升級韌體輸出4K, 可是是怎樣的品質就不知了
或許只是升頻而已, 可能要下一版的PS4才會再改進

The big improvements for the PS4 (over the PS3) as a video player (not just Blu-ray) are:

1. supports 4K Ultra HD video output

2. serves as a video player for the Sony 4K video download service

3. potentially can accept a future firmware update to enable support of playback of Blu-ray 4K discs (target date 2nd half 2014)

4. potentially can support future 1080p discs at 48Hz and 60Hz including in 3D

5. potentially can support future Blu-ray discs (1080p and 4k) recorded with increase color bit depth (e.g., 10-bit and 12-bit)

Items 1 and 2 are more or less confirmed capabilities of the PS4. Item 3, 4, and 5 will depend on what gets defined for the next generation Blu-ray standard (due late 2013 or more likely early 2014), if the PS4 Blu-ray ROM drive can support the additional capacity defined for the next generation of Blu-ray, and if the PS4 can support HDMI 2.0. If all of the essential hardware pieces are already there, then future firmware releases will potentially enable these features for the next generation of Blu-ray discs.

According to the online user guide, 3D blu ray playback is not supported.

A DualDisc features one side that conforms to the DVD standard, and another side with audio only. The audio-only side cannot be played on the PS4™ system.

If a device that is not compatible with the HDCP (Highbandwidth Digital Content Protection) standard is connected to the PS4™ system using an HDMI cable, video or audio cannot be output from the system.

For continuous playback of copyright-protected BDs, the encryption key for AACS (Advanced Access Content System) may need to be renewed. To renew the key, you must update the system software.

Some discs may not be playable due to scratches, dust, the quality of recording, or the characteristics of the recording device.

In rare instances, DVDs, BDs and other media may not operate properly when played on the PS4™ system. This is primarily due to variations in the manufacturing process or encoding of the software.
